About Us

Some mornings just need a proper bagel. At Bagel Town Cafe on Union Valley Road, that means a sesame or everything pulled fresh from the oven, soft on the inside, with just enough chew to hold up to a generous schmear of chive cream cheese or a stacked egg-and-cheese. West Milford is a town that starts early, and Bagel Town opens right along with it at 6 AM, seven days a week.

The cafe has earned a 4.4-star reputation across more than 200 reviews by keeping things honest: a rotating spread of bagel varieties baked throughout the morning, a friendly counter crew that knows the regulars, and coffee ready the moment you walk in. It's a neighborhood spot where the 10:50 AM sesame is still coming out fresh, not day-old. That kind of consistency is what keeps people coming back on their commute, after a weekend hike through the Highlands, or just because Tuesday needs a good breakfast.

The menu spans classic deli-style combinations alongside specialty options including gluten-free bagels, so most dietary needs are covered without making it complicated. Doors close at 3 PM on weekdays and 2:30 PM on weekends, so mornings and midday lunches are the sweet spot.

What We Offer

Bagel Town Cafe runs a focused, well-executed menu built around the bagel as the main event. Pick your variety, from plain and sesame to everything and beyond, then load it with house-made cream cheese spreads, lox, deli meats, or a freshly cooked egg and cheese. Breakfast sandwiches are made to order, and the kitchen turns them quickly even during the morning rush.

Beyond the classic builds, the cafe stocks a selection of baked goods and deli staples, making it a practical stop for grab-and-go lunches and not just a morning-only destination. Gluten-free bagels are available for guests who need them. Coffee is served hot and ready, the right pairing for a toasted bagel with cream cheese on a cold West Milford morning.

Whether you're fueling up before work, picking up a dozen for the office, or settling in for a slow Saturday breakfast, the counter staff keeps things moving and the food coming out right.

"No 1 bagel should cost FIFTEEN dollars. Bagel with cc and lox for 15$ is crazy! Even tho it was on a gluten free bagel, I don’t understand how they can charge you that much for a cream cheese bagel. Rip off. Will not be back. Also the gluten free bagel is half the size of a regular bagel. So charging more for a smaller size doesn’t make sense."

"I'll start with the staff is pretty friendly overall but the food is never that good. I only order bagle 2egg and cheese. Every time the egg is undercooked on the inside and burnt on the outside. Used to be my goto place but im kinda over it since foodnis never done correctly."

"First time here. Very fresh bagel for 1050am. Got a sesame bagel toasted with chive cream cheese and a cup of coffee. My standard for trying a new bagel shop. Did not disappoint. Fresh soft bagel with a crispy toast. The cream cheese was excellent. Seems homemade and great chive taste. Coffee was fresh and strong. I will be back to try some other yummy stuff from here."

"The only good thing about this place was a young kid is working here today very polite and sweet and respectful. But the older guy back there with the red cap Jesus Christ he first messed up my order. I ordered the toasted bagel with egg and ham no cheese and I got a toasted bagel with just bacon. I go back in without making a scene, in front of me he starts picking through the garbage I guess he thought I was lying about my order and went to the back without changing his gloves after picking through the garbage. I hear him start grabbing things to make my correct sandwich and then he comes out slices ham in his hands and still not changing the gloves and carries the ham in his hands to the back and makes my sandwich not even apologizing and I'm like an idiot saying thank you again and he goes to me uh ha and walks away. You don't like your job you should quit your job but dude you shouldn't work in the kitchen very disgusting habits and very disgusting attitude. How I'm walking into my house I'm literally throwing this in the garbage and making my own food. I won't even give it to my dogs That's how disgusted this is. I gave you 20 bucks for nothing. FYI for the owner you used to have a five-star review from me and so many times you messed my up my order and I never came back but this was overboard. I ordered a egg and ham bagel to just get plain bacon. I wasn't even yelling nor complaining ask the young kid that was working today on March 19, 2025. The young kid apologized at least 15 times... And I took a picture how your sandwich is in the garbage. I didn't even bother for the refund nor to complain I will go to g&A bagels in Butler New Jersey where I went for years please read my review for them"
